SPESA Expo, Material World, Technology
Solutions Return for
Comprehensive Triennial Event – May 8-10, 2007
Co-Located Events Return to Showcase ALL Components of Sewn Products
Industry
At One Place, At One Time
Raleigh, NC and Kennesaw, GA
— Building upon the solid success of the
2004 edition, the Sewn Products Equipment & Suppliers of the Americas (SPESA),
owner and producer of SPESA Expo 2007, and Urban Expositions, owner and
producer of Material World, will once again co-locate their events in
2007. Offering a comprehensive global solutions resource for the sewn
products industry, the co-located edition will also feature Technology
Solutions, an IT-focused event jointly owned and produced by SPESA and
Urban Expositions. Occurring in the spring of every third year, this
all-inclusive industry event made its debut in 2004 and returns in 2007
to bring together machinery and equipment, fabric/findings, sourcing and
information technology.
Co-hosted by SPESA
and the American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA), official sponsor
of Material World, this co-located event will be held May 8-10, 2007 at
the Miami Beach Convention Center, Miami Beach, Florida.
A QUOTA FREE WORLD
The
inaugural May 2004 co-location of Material World, SPESA Expo and
Technology Solutions exceeded expectations and delivered on all promises
by attracting more than 10,600 members of the apparel industry, as well
as generating tremendous new business opportunities for the 600-plus
exhibiting companies. Significant industry changes and developments,
including the lifting of quotas in 2005 and the implementation of CAFTA,
point to an even stronger business environment for the 2007 edition.
“As business and legislative conditions in the sewn products industry
continue to evolve, SPESA and Urban Expositions believe that it is more
important than ever that our visitors can see all the major components
in one place, at one time,” explains Tim von Gal, executive vice
president, Urban Expositions.
2007 visitors will be able to see machinery, parts, fabric, trims,
services, CAD/CAM, software, sourcing, accessories, and more at the
co-located events.
“The changes we’ve witnessed in the global sewn products industry since
2004 have convinced us more than ever that all segments of the industry
must work together to remain competitive. The world has shrunk…today’s
customers can be anywhere in the world…yet are as close as an email.
SPESA Expo, Material World, and Technology Solutions provide a unique
opportunity for visitors to see leading companies that supply machinery,
equipment, technology, fabric, sourcing and information technology. One
airline ticket, one hotel room, and one registration give the visitor
entrance to ‘Three Great Events’ at ‘One Great Location,’” commented
Benton Gardner, executive vice president, SPESA.
“Sourcing
operations and production systems continue to evolve as a result of
quota removal, and the implementation of free trade agreements such as
CAFTA. Apparel companies are constantly evaluating new strategies and
new technologies to better serve its customers around the world,” states
Kevin M. Burke, President and CEO of AAFA.
“Material World,
Technology Solutions and SPESA Expo are positioned to help the industry
maximize its business opportunities by featuring the full complement of
supply chain services under one roof.”
SEAMLESS FLOORPLAN, REGISTRATION,
EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM
To insure
the best possible show environment, there will be one registration
system that will service all shows, one admission badge, and an open
floor plan will make it easy for visitors to move from one show to the
other. New for 2007, a unified educational curriculum will give
attendees a comprehensive series of programs to choose from for all
three events. From keynote addresses to case studies and trend
programs, the conference schedules for SPESA Expo, Material World and
Technology Solutions will be carefully coordinated to maximize visitor
topic choices and attendance options.

find products and services that will give them a competitive advantage
in their specific markets. Exhibitors target markets geographically,
including buying teams from throughout the Americas, Caribbean, Europe
