AAS (Associate in Applied Science) and BS (Bachelor of Science) Degrees in Production Management: Fashion and Related Industries

Apparel and textile businesses need to deliver quality merchandise on time and at the right price. At New York City-based FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology – State University of New York) the AAS program immerses students in business administration and production techniques for the competitive manufacturing systems in today's global marketplace.

Students learn analytical and conceptual problem solving, effective business communication, and industry systems and software. The AAS program provides a solid foundation of business principles, technological training, and production methods. In the BS program, students will concentrate on the intricacies of the manufacturing process, quality control, and the global supply chain.

The AAS courses include Supply Chain Management, Product Data Management, Manufacturing Facilities Management, Cutting Room Processes, Product Costing, Strategy, Policy, and Decision Making

FIT makes Study Abroad opportunities available with a semester program in Hong Kong.

Typical internships are offered by Marc by Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Diane von Furstenberg, A/X Armani Exchange, Carolina Herrera, Ralph Lauren, and VF Corporation.

Career Outcomes

Graduates find positions as production coordinators, product engineers, logistics and distribution managers, salespersons, directors of manufacturing, general operations managers, technical designers, consultants, independent business operators, and product developers.
