TUKAgroup Appoints Martin E. Bailey as President of TUKAweb

Marty BaileyLOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA (USA) - TUKAgroup announces the promotion of Martin (Marty) Bailey as President of their TUKAweb division. Bailey will be responsible for leading managing the fastest-growing division for consulting, implementation, manufacturing, and other services.

Bailey is a 1984 graduate of Campbellsville College in Campbellsville, KY, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting. Marty Bailey has a diverse background and a solid record of achievements.

Bailey began his apparel and textile career at Fruit of the Loom, in 1984. Within seven years the company grew from $500 million to $2.4 billion in sales. Bailey became a key player in supporting the company's domestic growth and eventual transition into global manufacturing. In his final role as Director of Manufacturing Services, he was responsible, for the leadership of Global Product Development, Quality Assurance, Process Engineering, and Cap Ex management for the company. This included 26 facilities in seven countries with over 16,000 employees. Bailey spent nearly fifteen years with Fruit of the Loom, creating the foundation for his ability to affect change and growth for other companies in the future.

In 1998 as the Senior Vice President, Manufacturing for Alstyle Apparel / A&G, Inc., Bailey was responsible for eleven sewing facilities in the US and Mexico. The company produced 450,000 units per day of active wear and fashion wear. Bailey was responsible for production planning, plant layouts, pull demand team layouts, and new product implementation. He oversaw the start-up of three sewing facilities in Tijuana, Mexico.

Bailey joined American Apparel, Inc. as the Chief Operating Officer in 2002 when it had $20 million in revenue, and he held senior management roles as it grew to over $600 million in revenue and expanded to become a global retailer in addition to its legacy apparel manufacturing business. Over time, Bailey was designated as President–Manufacturing but held various additional responsibilities as the company developed.

On his new role as President of TUKAweb, Bailey says he has had, "More than my share of good fortune of working with and learning from many of the apparel, textile, and retail industries' finest, and working with Ram Sareen and Tukatech is one more opportunity to do just that."
