Febratex 2018 Proves that the Brazilian Textile Sector is Optimistic

FebratexBLUMENAU, SANTA CATARINA (BRAZIL) – One of the main textile technology fairs in the Americas evidenced the resumption of business in the textile/clothing segment with a large flow of buyers and exhibitors.

One of the main business fairs in the Americas, Febratex 2018, held its 16th edition from August 21 to 24, in Vila Germânica Park, in Blumenau (SC), once again drawing from the Itajaí Valley and nearby. The event received a record audience, which conferred the main technological innovations for the textile and clothing sector, presented by more than 2,400 national and international brands, distributed by the 400 stands set up for the event.

FebratexThe visiting public and buyers had the opportunity to check out 35% additional machines in operation during the event, compared to the 2016 edition. This results of the exhibition demonstrates the optimism of the sector for the last quarter of 2018 and for the year of 2019.

Hélvio Roberto Pompeo Madeira, CEO of FCEM | Febratex Group, the exhibition company that organizes the trade fair, states: "The 2018 edition of Febratex surpassed all expectations, being the largest of all the editions carried out so far. The balance was extremely positive for exhibitors and visitors looking for good deals and up-to-date market information."

The Blumenau hotel and tourism network had a 100% occupancy during the period, showing the importance of Febratex for the textile production chain in Latin America and for the Vale do Itajaí region, one of the main textile regions in Brazil.

In all, 51,786 badges were distributed and – considering that each visitor usually goes to the event in at least two of the four days of the exhibition – the total visitation increased, creating a new record. The turnover should also exceed that of the edition made in 2016, which was in the order of BRL R$1.6 billion. The vast majority of businesses that are started at the fair are then finalized during the post-event period until the next Febratex. The actual turnover is strategic information of the exhibitors that can not be divulged by the organization of the fair.

In addition to the exhibition area for equipment, raw materials and services, Febratex 2018 offered a diversified simultaneous educational program with the participation of more than 60 professionals.

The eductional program was focused on information and content of interest to the sector in the Febratex Forum of Information and during the In Fashion Febratex – a special attraction developed in partnership with Lectra. The themes were varied, but industry 4.0 was one of the highlights of the programs, as well as sustainability and technological innovation focused on the textile and clothing industry.

Expectations for Febratex 2020

The next Febratex is confirmed for August 18-21, 2020, in Vila Germânica Park, in Blumenau (SC), and the exhibitor floor plan, which is starting to be designed, already has 96% of the exhibit space allocated for the next edition.
